Artist, Film Director, and Photographer, Nicolas Guiraud lives in Paris. After studying economics and philosophy, he began his career in photography collaborating with Magnum Photos. He became Magnum creative director from 2003 to 2007. In 2010, he created 37.2, a micro-architecture and cultural engineering studio exploring the narrative potential of space.
In his work as a visual artist and photographer, he rejects the notion of style in favor of a narrative approach. Each photographic series, each sculpture, each film, each installation tells a unique story. He explores the idea of boundaries and transitions in the broadest sense between:
-Man and nature, Anthopocene - a book with writer Marie Darieussecq / the season of the bricks / Las Possas / After Ansel / La troisième île / Honey I watered the screen

He exhibits his work in numerous galleries and institutions: Rencontre d'Arles, Palais de Tokyo, Le 104 Paris, MAK Vienna, the PRIMA and Fiminco Foundations, The Galeries GZ, Temple, Jorg Brockman, Parsons …
He also shoots portraits and reportage for the press and various cultural institutions: Financial Times Magazine, Libération, M / Le Monde, Vanity Fair, Le Louvre, the LVMH Foundation, Elle, Zadig …He also works on advertising campaigns: Air France, Lancel, the Louvre, Paris JO 2024, Vilebrequin, Nike, Tod's, Ralph Lauren …
In 2019, he created the PRIMA foundation. He teaches photography and storytelling at Penninghen School and Parsons School Paris. He is also a lecturer for the Art Thinking network at various universities and grandes écoles (Stanford, ESCP, Centrale, Ivey Business School, etc.).
